Power flushing uses water at high velocity to flush out the sludge and corrosion deposits which exist or build up in a central heating system. The water is forced through the system at low pressure to ensure that no physical damage occurs and the process is used to restore systems with boiler noise or circulation problems to optimum performance.
Power Flushing Poole & Bournemouth
What is power flushing?
Our services
We mainly use power flushing in two areas:
Power flushing a new installation is an excellent way to remove any manufacturing or installation swarf, flux and other debris which may later become dislodged and cause future problems as well as cleaning out the greases and oils used by the manufacturers use to prevent rusting of components during shipping.
Existing installations
It can often pay dividends and prevent possible future problems by power flushing a central heating system immediately before the installation of a new boiler on an existing system. Corrosion and sludge are often present in a system even though no flow problems have yet become apparent.
Existing debris is often loosened and mobilised by modifications or alterations to the system or the piping and as a result of the increased efficiency of the new modern boilers. If this debris then accumulates in the boiler's heat exchanger, it can cause reduced efficiency, noisy operation and even failure of the boiler. Modern boilers have been developed with high efficiency and compactness in order to minimise fuel costs and pollution, but this also makes them more susceptible to the problems caused by sludge and debris in the circulating water.
